Strauss Ball
Our ongoing partnership with the Johann Strauss Foundation culminates each Spring with the Johann Strauss Ball, an evening of dance, cultural education, and celebration of music.
Through classic waltzes and original music, we set the stage for guests to dance the night away in their sharpest outfits. The Johann Strauss Ball draws over 200 patrons and donors each year to support scholarships for young and upcoming musicians in Alberta.

Rehearsals
Performance and all rehearsals take place at Chateau Lacombe Hotel, 10111 Bellamy Hill Rd NW.

Edmonton Composers Competition
The Edmonton Composers Competition is an annual competition run in collaboration with the Johann Strauss Foundation. Artists are called to enter original compositions for a chance to win a cash prize. The Edmonton Pops Orchestra then premieres the winning composition at the Johann Strauss Ball!
Vivian Kwok won the Edmonton Composers Competition in 2022. We performed her piece at the Strauss Ball in April 2023 and presented an official certificate to her family in attendance!
